Accelerating our Commitment to Open Source with the Acquisition of RTK.io
Note: This post originally appeared on the Rubicon Project website.
Earlier this year, we launched Demand Manager, a solution that puts publisher monetization teams back in control by making it easier for them to deploy, configure, and optimize their own Prebid-based, open source header bidding solutions. Demand Manager has been embraced by publishers across the Americas, Europe, and JAPAC, including Auto Trader, Business Insider, Discovery Inc., Everyday Health, iHeart, Los Angeles Times, Publishers Clearing House, Redbox, Southern Cross Austereo and Ziff Davis.
That said, our goal is to empower publishers everywhere with this kind of technology, and we want to do it as quickly and effectively as possible. That is why today I’m excited to announce we have acquired RTK.io, a provider of header bidding solutions that have much in common with Demand Manager, including a foundation in Prebid, the industry’s open source framework, robust and easy-to-use controls, and world-class client service.
RTK has some of the world’s top Prebid experts and developers, adding even more depth to Rubicon Project’s already great team. And, after years of honing their solution in market, RTK boasts exceptionally fast and flexible analytics capabilities, which are critical to helping publishers increase their yield.
In the coming months, we plan to combine Demand Manager and RTK’s solutions into a unified offering that will lead the industry in helping publishers make quick, informed decisions to grow their businesses. In short, this acquisition further strengthens our commitment to Prebid, and our deeply-held belief that open-source technology is the best route to a future in which ad tech is transparent, flexible and community-driven.
For now, I would like to welcome the RTK team to Rubicon Project. I look forward to what we can achieve together for our clients and for the industry as a whole.
