I am happy to announce that Magnite has closed its acquisition of SpotX, creating the largest independent CTV and video advertising platform. Although CTV and video are now as important to Magnite as ever, we are committed to our roots as an omnichannel SSP: a partner that makes it easier for sellers to monetize all ad formats, and for buyers to reach audiences all over the world.

A company’s size isn’t the only thing that matters, but sometimes it’s important. Our clients deserve stronger alternatives to the giants that dominate the industry. They need independent partners that are big enough to compete with the giants but are actually in it to see them win. That’s what we’re building at Magnite.

Since we announced our plans to buy SpotX in February, we’ve received universally positive feedback from our clients and partners. Today, we’re privileged to work with some of the world’s top media companies, OEMs, and platforms: a list that includes A+E Networks, AMC Networks, Crackle, Discovery, FOX, fuboTV, LG, Roku, Samsung, Sling TV and Vizio.

Though our long-term vision is to create a truly next-generation CTV platform, the process of bringing SpotX’s teams and technology together with ours has just begun. In the meantime, we want our clients to rest assured that continuity is our top priority.

Today’s news comes at an exciting time for advertising. The industry is undergoing a series of seismic shifts: the migration of billions in linear ad spend to CTV, changes to the identity regime are putting power back in the hands of publishers and consumers, and independent ad tech is rewriting the rules with open-source, community-driven projects such as Prebid.org.

Magnite is proud to be part of this moment, and we’re here to help our clients emerge from these transformations stronger than ever.
